Magical Stones of Destiny

If you once believed the world could be saved, this is the story for you -- because now you will believe it again.

Prince Ombra

Then since the soul is immortal and often born, having seen what is on earth and what is in the House of Hades and everything, there is nothing it has not learned….for seeing and learning are all remembrance.

The Dialogues of Plato

It gets cold on this coast in September. This morning the sea is prickled with raindrops.

Yesterday Miss Gardner and I packed the last carton of my notes. It had taken her six years, working four days a week, to arrange everything alphabetically – from Aah, the Egyptian moon deity, to Zoroastrianism – and type it all.

Last spring Miss Gardner’s cousin came on from the Middle West and she introduced me to him. She told him I was a scholar of mythology. That was kind of her, but beside the point. I’m not primarily a scholar. I’m a rememberer.

Nobody alive today knows what that means. It may sound strange to you – rememberer. But there’s nothing in the least strange about me.

I’m a seventy four year old woman with most of my original teeth, a driver’s license, and two doctorates – one of them in mathematics, the other in comparative religion. There are people in the village who think I’m different. But not strange. Joe Persia and the other simpletons who hang around the Stonehaven drugstore look upon me as a grande dame . I suppose that’s all right with me. But I do wish I could get Joe to stop calling me “ma’am”. I keep reminding him that we played together when we were children. He smiles all over that sweet, simple face of his and says, “We sure did, ma’am”.

There are seasons vaster and subtler than the cycles of the year. After a time of harmony the world begins to darken. The human race is possessed by fevers, plagues, and madness, as it was towards the end of the twentieth century. In such afflicted epochs a mortal being is born with an odd marking on his face. He carries a secret in his heart. He lives out a timeless destiny. If he is victorious in his life’s battle, the world will brighten. If this mortal hero perishes, the darkness on our lives deepens. This has happened a thousand and one times.

The stories of these enigmatic struggles are told in the symbols and wonders of legends. They are the true history of the world.

The great legends were left by people who knew these thousand and one men and went with them to their destinies. I knew Bentley Ellicott. I am the thousand and first rememberer.

This afternoon a nice girl who works at the university library is coming down to collect the carton that Miss Gardner and I packed and sealed yesterday. The preliminary work of my life is over. I have spent fifty three years studying and analyzing the world’s mythology so that I could understand what the rememberers who proceeded me were trying to say. I hope my notes will be of some use to someone.

I met Bentley Ellicott when I was seven years old. He told me all about himself. I accompanied him on his strange journey, and I was present when he fulfilled the destiny for which he had been born. It was given to me to know about events beyond the perimeters of his life and mine. The old man who was our teacher thought that all the rememberers had this extra gift of knowing.

I may live to see another summer. I may not. As I have told you, it gets cold on the coast in September. This morning, fog hangs on the southeastern horizon. I have lit a fire in the living room.

And now, at last, I set down the tale that I was born to leave in the world’s memory. I will tell you the story of Bentley and the borrowed heart. It begins in an afflicted time of history. Listen.

And remember.

God speaks to man through man. Ancient men speak to us in myths. Above the brown river waters of Egypt, sluggish in the burning sun, the first story of the world’s creation lingers in the second air.

At the beginning of the legend there was no world. Neither were there suns, stars, mortals nor air. In the emptiness, the great sea of chaos, Nun, held within it’s waters all that would eventually come to be.

In those profound depths lived he who would never die. His name was Atum, which meant “the sun at it’s setting.”

He dwelt in the primordial sea, keeping his eyes closed so that his light would not be extinguished. He hid himself in a lotus blossom so that his nature would never be known.

Tiring, at last, of his solitude, the god transformed himself into a stone obelisk. He changed his name to Ra-Harakhte, which means “the sun at its noon zenith”. This name also means “the creator”.

The god burst from the depths of Nun, breaking though the surface with a great turmoil that made the first tides. The obelisk rose into the sky and filled it as the sun at noon. All the world was illuminated for the first time, and, thus, came to be.

Ra made his shrine at Heliopolis and there, without wife, he bore his divine children, their children, and the children of those children. Their names were Shu and Tefnut, Geb and Nut and Osiris, the gentle king and world conqueror who governed Egypt with his sister-wife, Isis. Their brother was the wicked, pale-skinned Prince Set, and their sister was Nephthys, keeper of the palace at Heliopolis beside the great river Nile, which brings life to the land.

These eight descendants of Ra inhabited his shrine. They were the divine company called the Ennead.

All things were in them- the light and the darkness, wisdom and tyranny, good and evil.

Their ancestor had left a piece of himself in the depths of Nun, the primordial sea. This fragment of Ra, the obelisk, is black, with specks of quartz and silver glinting on its surface. At the moment of creation it was washed from Nun into the waters of the world. It is called the Stone of Ra, and a thousand heroes have found it.

At the moment of its finding by a smooth-lipped one, Prince Ombra is summoned from his kingdom of dark winds and reenters the world to resume his war with god the nameless who is all the gods ever worshipped by the devout of heart.

No mortal prophet, no god, not even Ombra himself knows why he returns when the hero finds the stone of Ra. The war between good and evil must be. Ombra’s coming to earth has always been since the world began.

It is said and it is true----

That just before we are to be born, a cavern angel holds his finger to our mouths and whispers,

“Hush! Don’t tell what you know.”

This is why we have a cleft on our upper lips and remember nothing of where we came from.

Towards the end of the last century, a smooth lipped boy appeared in the world.

He grew up in an ominous time. People had lost the power of belief. Plagues of the spirit swept the world, shapeless anxieties spread like fever, self hatred was rampant, love was bitterly denounced because it wasn’t perfect. Evidence of madness glittered everywhere. The workshops of great nations forges weapons that would destroy the societies that used them. Acid rained from the skies, rivers putrified. In some places the air was unbreathable. Hucksters sold God on television, and religions were made out of economic theories that didn’t work. Tyrants brutalized the people in the name of the people. The new prophets of freedom preached doctrines of selfishness. Knowledge raced far ahead of wisdom. Mankind worshipped facts, but facts couldn’t explain the misfortunes that counterweight the blessings of human life. There were machines that could think, and people numbed their minds to keep themselves from thinking. In their deepest dreams men stood within stone circles and saw a darkness darker than dark.

Such epochs of desolation had cursed human history a thousand times before. And, each time, a smooth lipped mortal was born.

“Evidence of madness glittered everywhere”…………………….

CARTHAGE, N.C. – A single shot from a decorated police officer stopped a gunman's rampage through a North Carolina nursing home, ending a slaughter that left eight people dead and three more wounded, police said Monday.

Carthage Police Chief Chris McKenzie said Monday the gunman may have targeted the home because his estranged wife, whom he did not name, works there. He said Monday he believed the couple were recently separated, but acknowledged he didn't yet know many more details about her.

Authorities said Robert Stewart, 45, went on a terrifying rampage in the Pinelake Health and Rehab center on Sunday morning, killing seven residents and a nurse and wounding three other people.

He was stopped by a single shot to the chest fired by Justin Garner, a decorated police officer responding to a 911 call. Stewart wounded Garner three times in the leg as they traded gunfire in a hallway, McKenzie said.

"Whether he realizes it now, he will hopefully realize someday how many lives he has saved," McKenzie said, adding: "A lot more lives would have been lost, I honestly feel, had he not done what he did. For certain."

and earlier the same day this story appears -

MILTON, Mass. - A man on a rampage fatally stabbed his 17-year-old sister, decapitated his 5-year-old sister in front of a police officer and then headed toward his 9-year-old sister with a knife in his hand before officers shot him amid what their chief described as "a killing field."

There is no clear motive yet for the events that unfolded about 5 p.m. Saturday in this tony Boston suburb that is also home to Gov. Deval Patrick. But there is no doubt at the carnage wrought by 23-year-old Kerby Revelus against his three sisters in the two-family home they shared with their parents and grandmother.

Bianca was killed as a cake for her 5th birthday sat on the kitchen table. Sarafina, 9, dialed 911 and watched police shoot her brother as her elder sister, Samantha, lay dead on the floor.

Magical stones are being thrust into our consciousness - from all sides esoterically and exoterically, a few stories that all seem to me to be related.

March 2009

Black stones are referenced in current the film Knowing ... black hematite seen throughout the story as a clue. The film is about destruction and resurrection. Hematite is one of several iron oxides. Hemoglobin is an iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of vertebrates. Everything goes to iron, magnetics, blood and bloodlines, - the real key is DNA in an electromagnetic energy program.

This event caught my eye, because I always look for articles about asteroids as Z's name was once Zoroaster. Zoro ... to me means Zero Point. Aster means Star - but could link with Asteroid. This story was also valuable because it was the first time an asteroid was detected in space before crashing into planet Earth's atmosphere and the first time in tact rock were recovered..

The Mirror Matter Theory of Lost

This theory is devoted to the possibility that the black rock sought by the Black Rock contains mirror matter, which a few physicists believe may account for some or all of the dark matter in the universe. I further speculate that the black rock is the famed Philosopher's Stone, aka Black Stone, aka Chintamani Stone, aka Shining Trapezohedron of myth and legend.

As I stated previously that mirror and regular matter mainly interact via gravity. But there are at least two other forces that Foot believes could create admixtures: photon-mirror photon transition, and neutrino-mirror neutrino mass mixing. The explanations are too technical for our purposes, but those interested can read more here.

Suffice it to say that mirror and regular matter (or anti-matter) can conceivably mix, which brings me to Tunguska.

"Grail Treasure"?

With the current massive outpouring of information regarding the fabled Holy Grail (or Grails) it is impossible to ignore what may be the very first Holy Grail on Earth, the Chintamani Stone, the “Treasure of the World.”

Between 1923-1928 this stone, which first manifested on Earth many thousands of years before the Cup of Christ, was taken by the great Russian artist and mystic Nicholas Roerich into the heartland of the Far East in order to reunite it with the mother stone it had been separated from, a massive jewel that resided in Shambhala, the Land of the Immortals.

This Chintamani Stone, which is of extra-terrestrial origin, had supposedly been brought to Earth by emissaries from a planet orbiting the star Sirius and then handed over to Shambhala’s principal resident, the elusive “King of the World,” a monarch known by many mystics in the East but only by a handful of occultists in the West. In regards to its identity in the Holy Grail legends, the Chintamani Stone appears to be synonymous with the “Stone of Heaven,” the Holy Grail manifestation mentioned by Wolfram von Eschenbach in his famous Grail rendition known as Parzival, which is regarded by most Grail scholars to be the most complete and authoritative of the Grail legends.

The Chintamani Stone certainly fits the profile of Eschenbach’s enigmatic Stone of Heaven because, like its literary counterpart, the Treasure of the World is said to possess both the power to make a human immortal, as well as to have come to Earth from “Heaven” (Sirius), a truth that is supposedly engraved upon it as Sanscrit letters that Roerich once translated as,

“Through the Stars I come. I bring the chalice (Grail) covered with the shield.”

Like Eschenbach’s stone the Chintamani Stone is, apparently, also green in color, since Roerich is on record as also stating that the Chintamani Stone is similar in appearance to a species of meteorite known as Moldavite, which is dark green in color. If the Chintamani Stone is indeed Eschenbach’s Stone of Heaven could it also be the original Philosophers Stone, which legends assert could turn a base metal into gold and a human into an immortal deity? Could it be the original Holy Grail, the one that was later emulated by all Holy Grails, including the Cup of Christ and the wood of the True Cross?

With so much evidence in its support of its power and existence, it does indeed appear that the study of the Chintamani Stone should warrant special consideration in any contemporary Holy Grail research.

Robert Temple, author of The Sirius Mystery, which records the history of the Dogon people and their encounters with the Sirians, found another possible Earth link with Sirius soon after his book was published. Members of Freemasonry, who had long known of Sirius as the Great White Lodge in the Galaxy and commonly depicted it in their lodges as the Blazing Star, contacted Temple and invited him to become an initiate of their organization.

Although Temple could not subsequently find explicit indications that Freemasonry had been in direct contact with Sirian missionaries in the past, he did find intriguing clues connecting them to the star Sirius, including the eye within the triangle symbol which currently surmounts the pyramid on the US seal.

This triangle, an ancient Freemasonic symbol, depicts the Grand Architect of the Universe and is closely associated with what the Dogon refer to as the “Eye” of the universe, the dwarf star Digitaria, that is part of the trinitized Sirian grouping of stars and recognized by the tribe as the Creator of the Universe.

The US seal eventually became featured on the back of the US dollar bill during the administration of Franklin Roosevelt, who was himself a high-ranking Freemason and Shriner, and before that it was the symbol of the eighteenth century Illuminati, who sought to achieve the Sirian goal of a one-world civilization although it is believed they did so with less than purely altruistic intentions.

Temple also discovered another clue indicating a close connection between the Freemasons and Sirius: the day of US independence by the Freemasonic fathers, July 4th, is one of the days of the year when our Sun is in its closest alignment with Sirius.

Alchemy: Ancient and Modern

The Aim of Alchemy:

Alchemy is generally understood to have been that art whose end was the transmutation of the so-called base metals into gold by means of an ill-defined something called the Philosopher's Stone; but even from a purely physical standpoint, this is a somewhat superficial view. Alchemy was both a philosophy and an experimental science, and the transmutation of the metals was its end only in that this would give the final proof of the alchemistic hypotheses; in other words, Alchemy, considered from the physical standpoint, was the attempt to demonstrate experimentally on the material plane the validity of a certain philosophical view of the Cosmos. We see the genuine scientific spirit in the saying of one of the alchemists: "Would to God ... all men might become adepts in our Art - for then gold, the great idol of mankind, would lose its value, and we should prize it only for its scientific teaching." Unfortunately, however, not many alchemists came up to this ideal; and for the majority of them, Alchemy did mean merely the possibility of making gold cheaply and gaining untold wealth.

The Transcendental Theory of Alchemy:
By some mystics, however, the opinion has been expressed that Alchemy was not a physical art or science at all, that in no sense was its object the manufacture of material gold, and that its processes were not carried of Alchemy out on the physical plane. According to this transcendental theory, Alchemy was concerned with man's soul, its object was the perfection, not of material substances, but of man in a spiritual sense. Those who hold this view identify Alchemy with, or at least regard it as a branch of, Mysticism, from which it is supposed to differ merely by the employment of a special language; and they hold that the writings of the alchemists must not be understood literally as dealing with chemical operations, with furnaces, retorts, alembics, pelicans and the like, with salt, sulphur, mercury, gold and other material substances, but must be understood as grand allegories dealing with spiritual truths. According to this view, the figure of the transmutation of the "base" metals into gold symbolised the salvation of man -- the transmutation of his soul into spiritual gold -- which was to be obtained by the elimination of evil and the development of good by the grace of God; and the realisation of which salvation or spiritual transmutation may be described as the New Birth, or that condition of being known as union with the Divine. It would follow, of course, if this theory were true that the genuine alchemists were pure mystics, and hence, that the development of chemical science was not due to their labours, but to pseudo-alchemists who so far misunderstood their writings as to have interpreted them in a literal sense.
